Service Terms

1. Who we are
SoarWeb, based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. You can reach us at [email protected] or 07479 528595. When these terms say "you", they mean the business we're building for.
2. The free preview
We build preview websites from publicly available information, at no charge, hosted on our own domain. There is no obligation attached to a preview: if you don't want it, we take it down and nothing is owed. A preview only becomes your website once you approve it and the monthly plan starts.
3. What £0 to start includes
There is no build fee and no deposit. Approving your preview gets you, at no one-off cost: the complete site built from your menus, photos and listings; two rounds of changes; the move onto your own domain; and 200 printed cards carrying your site's address. Work beyond that scope — new pages, a redesign, extra features — is always quoted in writing first, and never started without your yes.
4. The plan — £35/month
- Domain registration and its yearly renewal
- Hosting and the SSL certificate
- The security work in section 5
- One content update a month — menu prices, opening hours, offers, photos you send us — made within 2 working days of your written message
The plan starts the day your site goes live and is paid monthly in advance. Updates beyond the one included are £24.99 each, agreed in writing before we make them. Bigger changes than a content update are quoted in writing first.
5. Security — what we actually do
Rather than a vague promise, here is the specific work:
- Your site is served over HTTPS with an SSL certificate that renews itself — the padlock never expires
- It runs behind Cloudflare's global network, which shields it from DDoS attacks and absorbs traffic spikes
- It is built as static pages: no database, no admin login, no plugins — the doors attackers usually walk through don't exist on your site
- Browser security headers are set on every page, protecting against content-sniffing, clickjacking and referrer leaks
- No third-party trackers or scripts run on your pages, and fonts are served from the site itself — nothing loads from someone else's server
- Every version of your site is kept in version control, so any page can be restored to a known-good state quickly
6. Your content, your responsibility
You confirm that the material you give us — text, photos, logos, menus — is yours to use, and that the facts on the site you approve (prices, opening hours, allergen and dietary information, claims about your business) are accurate. We put them on the page carefully, but checking them is yours: you know your kitchen and your business, we don't.
7. Ownership
Everything on the site that is about your business — your words, images, menus, brand — is yours, always. While you're on the plan, we register and manage the domain and hosting on your behalf, so there is nothing technical on your plate.
8. Moving away
You are never locked in. At any time, for a one-off £299, we will transfer the domain to your own registrar account and hand over all of the site's files, within 30 days of your request. After the transfer the plan ends and nothing more is owed.
9. Stopping the plan
Tell us in writing, any time — no notice period, no reason needed. Payments stop from that moment and nothing more is collected. The site stays up until the end of the time you've already paid for; after that it comes offline and the domain lapses, unless you take the transfer in section 8. We'll confirm in writing before anything comes down.
10. Payment
There is nothing to pay before your site is live on your own domain. The plan is collected monthly in advance, normally by Direct Debit.
11. Our liability
We build and care for brochure websites; we're not responsible for your trading results, lost profits, or outages caused by providers outside our control (such as the domain registrar, Cloudflare, or an internet carrier). For any claim, our total liability is capped at the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
